Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how Madeleine Brandon LLC, doing business as The Kindling Studio ("we," "us," or "our"), collects and uses information in connection with The Outpost subscription and this website. We're a small creative business, and we try to keep this simple and human.

Information we collect

Account information. When you create an account for the member archive, we collect your name and email address, and store a securely hashed password. Authentication is handled through Lovable Cloud (our hosting and backend platform).

Payment information. Payments are processed by our payment provider, ThriveCart (with Stripe as the underlying processor). We do not see or store your full card number. We receive limited transaction information from ThriveCart — such as your name, email, billing country, and subscription status — so that we can link your subscription to your archive account.

Email marketing. If you opt in, we use an email marketing provider to send occasional newsletters and announcements about The Outpost. You can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email.

Basic usage information. Like most websites, our hosting provider may automatically log basic technical information such as IP address, browser type, and timestamps, for security and reliability purposes.

How we use your information

• Provide and maintain your subscription and access to the member archive.
• Process payments and manage renewals, changes, and cancellations.
• Send transactional emails (receipts, account notifications, template drops).
• Send marketing emails if you've opted in.
• Respond to your questions and support requests.
• Protect the security and integrity of the archive and enforce our Terms of Use.

Who we share information with

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with the service providers we rely on to run The Outpost, and only what they need to do their job:

• Lovable Cloud — hosting, authentication, and database.
• ThriveCart / Stripe — checkout and payment processing.
• Our email marketing provider — sending newsletters and announcements.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to respond to a valid legal request, or to protect our rights, our members, or the public.

Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to keep you signed in to the member archive and to remember basic preferences. We do not use these for cross-site advertising.

Data retention

We keep your account and subscription information for as long as you have an active subscription and for a reasonable period afterward to handle renewals, refunds, tax records, and legal obligations. You can request that we delete your account at any time (see below).

Your choices and rights

• Access, update, or delete your account information by emailing us.
• Unsubscribe from marketing emails using the link in any newsletter.
• Cancel your subscription at any time through the subscription management link in the member archive footer.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws (for example, to request a copy of your data or restrict certain processing). To exercise any of these rights, email us at the address below.

Children

The Outpost is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we'll update the "Effective" date at the top of this page. If the changes are material, we'll let active members know by email or through a notice in the archive.
